The Reality of Living with IBS

I have had stomach problems my whole life. Yet, it took untill halfway through high school for me to be diagnosed with IBS. And trust me it was not for a lack of trying to figure it out. As a child I had all the crazy tests done.

Now as an adult I have learned how to manage it. But it is not easy. It is a touchy balance to keep it from acting up.
The Drs tell your NO: Chocolate, Greasy food, and no caffeine.
That my friend is hard to maintain. I have also learned for me drinking Shakeology daily and my VSL #2 probiotic are essential. Along with exercise, clean eating, good water intake, and living chemical free has kept it almost 95% at rest.

I still always keep my clinical strength anti-diarrhea pill on me. But I am proud to say I have improved.

I no longer have a half hour to hour stomach ache during the afternoon, where all I could do was lay down.

I no longer get sick going to any social outing.

I no longer have to go straight home after fast food or anticipate being sick after ice cream.

Yes, I still get sick when I have too many cheats, too much caffeine, or I slack off on my healthy living.

Today was one of those days. It caught me totally off guard. I didnt even realized that between my sweet potatoes, Kale Salads, and good water intake. I had been drinking caffeine at work, drinking Rockstars, working out less, forgetting my oils and supplements, and I treated myself to froyo for dinner last night and followed it with popcorn. After that I had a Rockstar at 11. The next morning I awoke at 7 and didnt eat or drink anything till a Rockstar at 12. Bad idea huh?!?!

Well I reaped the consequences. But it is always a good reminder for me why I do this! Why do I live a healthy and natural life? Because the alternative isn't even worth living.
