My holiday has not been a relaxing and festive one. I have had no Christmas parties. No time to make cookies. No time to do much of anything besides Christmas shop after work. I start my third job today which will keep me even busier. I am thankful for it none the less. I have been doing a few little things to make it feel like Christmas around here. If not for me for David. This is his first Christmas that he is able to truly participate in. I am so excited to see his face on Christmas morning.
- Christmas Movies and TV Shows: We have been watching lots of Christmas shows on Netflix. In the kids section they have a whole Christmas section. We have watched tons of Thomas the Train, Madagascar, Shrek, and more.
- Christmas Music: We have an Amazon Echo. So many times I tell her to play Christmas carols or Elvis Christmas music. David loves it. He dances and grooves every time music comes on.
- Christmas Lights: We have tons of Christmas lights in the house connected to a remote control system. I let David turn them on and off. To him it is like a magical light show.
- Hot tea and Hot coco: I started doing this because I am currently sick but it really does make it feel more like the holidays. Sipping on a warm drink soothes the soul.
- Winter Candle: I bought and fell in love with the Holiday Cookies candle by Sonoma from Kohls. It is heavenly. After burning it once my room smells good for days.
- Fuzzy Socks: I know this may sounds completely silly but this is huge to me. Fuzzy socks make it feel like Christmas to me. I have always had feet on ice in the winter and fuzzy socks are the best cure.
I would love to hear what specials little things you do to make it feel like the holidays in your busy life. Comment below and let me know.
God bless,
Deborah West
